After ten years bouncing between traditional gyms and underground fight clubs, I realized something was missing. People wanted real training - the kind that doesn't come from a corporate manual. Started training small groups in a warehouse off Commercial Drive, word spread fast.
Pandemic hit and everyone panicked. We didn't. Found this spot on West 4th, gutted it, built it from scratch. Every piece of equipment hand-picked, every corner designed for actual work. No mirrors everywhere, no juice bar selfie stations - just raw space for getting after it.
Wasn't just me anymore. Brought on coaches who actually lived this stuff - ex-fighters, strength athletes, people who've been in the trenches. Our crew started winning amateur fights, hitting PRs they never thought possible. The vibe shifted from 'my gym' to 'our realm.'
Added the recovery space because beating yourself up daily without fixing the damage is just stupid. Brought in nutrition planning that's actually realistic - not some influencer BS. We're about longevity now, not just intensity.
Right now? We're exactly where we need to be. Small enough to know everyone's name, big enough to have every tool you need. Members stick around because this isn't transactional - it's personal. You show up, put in the work, and we've got your back.
